So, I decided to check out Etsy (finally). I put one listing up, explaining in it that the possibilities and varieties of Beerings are endless. Guess how many buyers I've got so far? 0.00, that's how many. It's only been a week or so, but I hardly think it's worth the $0.20 bill I recieved the other day. That's right--$0.20. Who do they think I am, Donald Trump? C'mon. I think I'm gonna go with Craigslist where it's free. At least this way I don't have to pay money to not sell stuff.
I definitely foosed myself the other day. Remember that craft show I said about and how it was going to be fun and how everyone should go? Well, turns out I should have taken my own advice. It completely slipped my mind and I ended up sleeping in real late that day. So, basically I'm a jackass, but we already knew that. I hope there was a good turnout and people sold stuff. I would have liked to have been there selling stuff, also. But, I made my bed....and then I slept in it until 2pm.
In more upbeat news, K-Kel is coming into town. Who is K-Kel, you ask? K-Kel is a whimsical, magical, adorable little redwood forest nymph who is long overdue for a visit to the great midwest. Everything will be good when she gets here. Mark Dayton will win the election and the inevitable recount, I will finish alllll of my homework and get A's on everything, Pert' Near Sandstone will play all of our favorite songs and probably we will even have more fun and adventures than one can imagine. Boy, I can't wait. Oh, the places we'll go!*

I know I said I'd never do another one, but this one is an exception. Craft fair at the Beat Coffeehouse in Uptown. The Beat is neat. They have music a lot of times and also good coffee. I think it will be fun, so get your ass down there and look at and buy some arts and some crafts.

If you didn't know, today is the eighth anniversary of the Wellstones' plane crash. Too many good people die in October. Hence, October is a crap month. Screw you, October.
R.I.P. Paul, Sheila, Marcia, Mary, Tom, Will, Elliott, Micheal, and everyone else who died too early.

I'm procrastinating, facebooking and blogging all at the same time! All the while thinking about watching Law & Order. Impressed? Me too. Another craft show deal coming up. October 30th, at the Beat in Uptown. No new stuff, too busy not doing anything for that. Made an Etsy store, but didn't realize it cost money to list items. So, I listed one. So that's a big deal. HUGE.

I gotta get a new gig.

I will start my new life by entering the Publisher's Clearing House. Right.....now.

Frankly, I'd just be happy with the balloons.

Stickshifts and Safety Belts

So, I finally got a car, she's a beaut. It's a stick shift, which is really funny and scary for me, and all others on the road. I'm learning though--only stalled three times on the way home today. She's forest green, mazda protege. Also: SUNROOF. Hopefully, the more I drive the more comfortable I'll get with it, and not piss off everyone around me. Dude leaned on his horn and gave me the finger today on account of my slow speed on the highway, but hey--I was going at least 45 so give me a goddamn break, jerkl Fuckin' cocksuckers and their hoopleheaded SUVs. (Side note: I've been watching a lot of Deadwood lately, it's awesome. It's cool how Wild Bill and Frank Lundy (from Dexter) are the same actor. Whoa!)

                                                                                                   In Beering news, I've been workin hard at producing as many as I can before the Caffetto Arts and Crafts Show (August 1st, don't forget). Got a good amount of pins, too (Hooch Brooches?). I probably spent more money on the supplies than what I'll actually make at the show but that's okay. Still figuring out glitches and whatnot. Chuggin' along.
Everything is slowly getting busier.....

Arts & Crafts Fair, Fireworks, and Fun, Fun, Fun

August 1st. Important date. Put it on your calendar. It's the 3rd Annual Caffetto Arts and Crafts Fair. There are 45 local artists and crafters, including yours truly. Music and fun in the sun included. I'm gonna be doin' up boatloads of new Beerings. Lots of pins, too. Promise. So, like I said--write it in on your schedule, tie a string around your finger, do what you gotta to remember this important, extremely important, date. Here is a visual reminder:

Okay, enough shop talk. Tomorrow is the fourth of July, afterall. Though it may be a bullshit holiday it's a great excuse to hang out. And wear cool hats. We're gonna tear up North Morristown. In a family-friendly kinda way. Whooo-ee, is it gonna be a blast. There's food and beer and fireworks and Pert Near and funny little kids and a gun range close by. Plan: get wasted, drive car to gun range, fire guns. Wait, no. That's not the plan. That sounds like a fourth of July tragedy just waiting to happen and I refuse to be that guy. Safety is the name of the game, especially on a holiday such as this. Good, clean fun is what it's all about, folks. Good, clean, fun and dino fireworks. It's the American way on America day. Mama's Got a Brand New Bag

Got a sweet new gig as a receptionist a couple days a week at Wellstone Action. Strictly volunteer basis, which means I'm not exactly making sky high stacks of cash...or any cash for that matter. Who cares though, I actually really dig it and who knows--maybe it'll lead to something bigger and better. Also, if I get a loan and go to school then I can get smart, pay rent, volunteer, AND make lots of Beerings. Now, there's a plan. I'm gonna get me some book-learnin' done.
Funds are more or less non-existent at this point, so not a lot of Beering and Beering related product production happening. Need to buy pinbacks, jumprings, earring hooks and so on. Not extremely spendy, but definitely costs more than I have in my shoebox bank + real bank combined. I'll hopefully be able to get my hands on supplies soon, though--I don't know how long the world can last without newer and better Beerings. Big Time.
Finally, who remembers Angry Beavers? Norbert and Dagget were some real cool guys. Kinda like the Niles and Frasier Crane of the semi-aquatic rodent world. Got some sweet pins (BROaches, if you will) coming up. All different kinds, between $3-5 each.
Booze and Pancakes was fun, met a lot of neat folks who liked Beerings. Sold some pairs, ate some pancakes, networked, laughed at stuff, looked at cool art. Also: yelled at a lot of downtown frat folk. All in all it was a good night. For those of you who punked out on me and didn't show up--you know who you are and you probably don't read this anyway--all I can say is...you've got some harsh words coming your way. Harsh, harsh words. For those of you who did show up, kudos and praise shall be showered upon you.
Nothing else coming up anytime soon, unless I get into the Caffetto Arts and Crafts fair which would be cool. I'll know June 15th, I think. Or maybe it's July.

Psychic Art Fair was this weekend, guess how many Beerings I sold? 0.00, that's how many. Guess Linden Hills folk aren't exactly the right kinda crowd. I did, however, get some free earrings and bath salts from nice lady Dawn so that was cool.
Now, this coming Friday (May 21st) is the Booze and Pancakes show, which should be neat. Free pancakes is the major seller for most, I think. I mean, that's why I'm going--besides the fact that there will be BigTime Beerings up on the wall. It costs a couple bucks to get in, but there's music, art, booze, pancakes, pancakes, pancakes. Next to Barfly (downtown mpls), 8pm-1am. Make an appearance, I dare you.

Words of wisdom from the VDub last night. Boy, oh boy people are getting on board with Beerings. We're talking bigger and better--Beering cufflinks, shower curtains, broaches (capital BRO)...I'm gonna be RICH. If bottlecaps were currency, that is. Unfortunately I'm still poor, money-wise, and will be forever, let's be honest.
Short blog today, gotta get back to business--but if you're good and the rocking horse doesn't steal Billie and Johnny Bushytail's stash and give it to Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy (for medicinal purposes), tomorrow I might tell you about how I beat up a guy at the bar for calling me 'sweetheart'.

Team M & M went to a fancy beer-tasting last night. We were by far the classiest, most mature people in the building (as always). I tried to do a little networking, which got easier with every sample of delicious microbrew I had. All the beertenders were way nice and saved me bottlecaps and six-pack boxes for my crafting. The beer-tasters were quite friendly, as well. There were some delectable brews there, that's for sure, wish I kept better track of what was what.
I'm working on peacin out a new batch of BigTime Beerings. I finally got the shipment of Latvian bottlecaps that are sure to make dazzling Beerings. I gotta figure out a way to make BeDazzled Beerings, next BigTime idea probably.
Enough babble, nobody reads this anyway. Onto the important news:

I guess that makes me one of Minneapolis' emerging artists because I'll have a few pairs of Beerings up. Should be neat, maybe even fun. I mean, there will be free pancakes so you really have no excuse not to show up. Seriously, no excuse. I don't want to hear it. It's gonna be boss. See you there!

to buy some BigTime Beerings. Seriously guys, if you haven't already it's time to invest in a pair of quality, American-made Beerings. Hand-crafted, with love, by yours truly. I've even got the blisters on my hands to prove it. Buy some Beerings so that I can afford to buy a real pliers and more supplies. Maybe eventually I'll even be able to buy my very own digital camera, so I can stop borrowing my mom's. I'm a starving "artist" here, okay? I've been trying to get stores and crafty art shows to let me sell my BigTime Beerings. I haven't heard anything back yet, though. We're trying positive thinking today...so we'll see. Patience and persistence, that's the name of the game folks.
I'm trying to figure out how to make a better website, I don't know if this blogspot business will cut it in the long run, but it's what we got for now. At least there's fish. You can feed them too, did you know that? Cool.
I went to the VFDub last night and we sang "I Touch Myself", dedicated to our girl Malurnia. It was weird. And fun. Also: funny. Tonight, it's back to my good old pal Dexter and his murderous ways, and more Beering production.

Arrrrrt Show and BeerRings

So, there's an art opening tonight at Steven's Square Center for the Arts, 6PM. I think some Beerings will be in it. Big time. I just realized my three loyal followers on this here blog are my mom and two of my friends, one of which who helped put together the whole show, so it was probably unnecessary to even mention it. Well, what's done is done. Brain function is at a low level this early, hasn't had a chance to warm up. We'll keep this short. BeerRings will be available soon, once I get my hands on enough ring bases. Also pins. Pins are cool, right? I can't really think of anything else to slap a beer cap on and call art, but if you do let me know.
Man, everyone's been giving me so many bottle caps. So, so many bottle caps. I can't help but feel a little bad for encouraging my friends to drink, drink, DRINK more, all for the sake of my art. But it is for the art and I appreciate it. I also appreciated IcePick, Scott, and Smilin' Bert keeping me entertained last night with good stories and bad jokes. That was cool, guys. It also means I got nothing done last night, and now that I actually have things to get done I better start getting them done today. A little later. More sleep. Good morning, good night. Yeah!

Oh boy, oh boy!

This is most exciting. I have just recieved a "shipment" of "bottle caps" from my "mom". Isn't that great? Nearly as great as my excessive and inappropriate use of quotation marks in that last sentence. The real story is my mom gave me a whole bunch of bottle caps, from her collection spanning years and continents, which have now taken over the entire floor of my studio apartment. This is more exciting than the time Billy and Johnnie Bushytail learned how to jump out of their tree, almost got eaten by an owl and then Grandma Lightfoot made them hickory nut pudding with acorn sauce for dinner. MORE EXCITING. I've quite a lot of work to do tonight, so if the rocking horse doesn't run away with the pound cake and put the fishbowl in the baby carriage, tomorrow I will tell you about the time the Woozie Wolf made off with Uncle Wiggily's red flannel pajamas because he couldn't scratch the itch in the middle of his back.
